RHYTHM PRACTICE, YOUR WAY
How would you like to practise?
Build an exercise for your players, or develop a rhythm using graded parameters.

1. Players and notes
Choose the number of players for each instrument.
Choose the written notes each player knows below. Each player has their own range. B♭ and E♭ parts transpose automatically; bassoon uses bass clef.
Everyone plays the same tune and rhythm, transposed for their instrument, in octaves where needed.
Off: everyone plays the same rhythm. On: each part gets its own rhythm using the values selected below. Parts may match when only one pattern is possible.
2. Rhythm
Tick blocks one at a time. Notes inside a block stay in the shown order. Only ticked blocks are used; a short exercise may not include them all.
For triplet quavers and triplet crotchets, choose Rhythm blocks above. Both are available in Build and in suitable advanced grades.
Note values
Rest values
Only selected values are used. Select smaller values if your choices cannot fill the bar.
Use the grade’s keys, time signatures and note values as a starting point. Choose a rhythm focus or select exact blocks, then set how many notes the player uses. Adapt your setup and save or export it.

Rhythm and note parameters
Practise at your own pace. Bars, loops, tempo, counting and backing remain adjustable. Levels 1–3 use exactly 1, 2 or 3 available notes; level 4 stays within an octave and the preset’s limits; level 5 opens the whole preset range. A short exercise may not use every available note. Rhythm stages are teacher-designed practice sequences. Changing a rhythm stage creates a new rhythm while keeping the note level. Changing a note level keeps the rhythm.

YOUR EXERCISE
Backing chords · concert pitch
In melody mode, only ticked notes inside each part’s range are used. Accented and sustained notes fit the chords; short passing and neighbour notes resolve by step. Held notes must fit every chord they cross and are tied only where rhythmic grouping requires it. In chord-tone mode, choose 1–3 tones of the chords you enter. Note choices and ranges are remembered on this device. Recorded flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon; sampled saxophones, piano, nylon guitar and acoustic bass. Generated percussion and light room ambience. Sound credits.
