The app uses 43 sustained recordings across these four instruments. Adaptations:
leading silence trimmed, converted to mono 32 kHz PCM, small tuning corrections,
level balancing and phase-matched crossfades for sustained-note loops. The natural
recorded attacks are retained. Pitch shifting between neighbouring recorded roots
and instrument-specific envelopes are applied during playback.

## Saxophones and backing instruments

FluidR3_GM (Fluid R3 General MIDI SoundFont), converted to MP3 by the MIDI.js
Soundfonts project (gleitz and contributors).

Alto and tenor saxophones use 13 roots each, spaced three semitones apart.
These samples have been converted to mono 32 kHz PCM, trimmed, tuned, level
balanced and crossfaded for sustained-note loops. Piano, nylon guitar and
acoustic bass use the original unmodified MP3 samples. Pitch shifting and
playback envelopes are applied in the app.

## Reproducibility

Exact source revisions, filenames, root pitches, processing corrections and loop
boundaries are recorded in winds/manifest.json. Source selections are retained in
scripts/wind-sources.json; scripts/prepare-wind-samples.py rebuilds the wind pack.
Percussion and light room ambience are generated by the app.
